The reality of early pregnancy loss that most people aren't talking about. We were not expecting this. We felt really, really lucky and really surprised in the best way. And I had started kind of spotting. This can happen, but it started to escalate. I took another test as soon as I got home and the lines were getting more and more faint. So what that turned out to be was a chemical pregnancy, which from my understanding, is basically a very early miscarriage. It did not feel or look like a regular period. I mean, I was really, really heavily bleeding for a bit of time. And that was really difficult. I'm not going to lie. It kind of took away the naivety and joy of a positive test. When I saw that positive test, I went immediately ten months forward and was like, oh, we'll definitely have a baby. After that, I realized that it's obviously not a guarantee, especially in those first couple of weeks, like the miscarriage risk is way higher. It made me more aware of the possibilities. I was certainly naive. This is my first time. We embraced it so happily and then it was ripped away and that was that was really hard.
