"The Undefeated Monsters" And it actually started as a piece of psychological warfare. The year is 1905, and the All Blacks are touring Britain, completely destroying everyone. They were undefeated, outscoring opponents 801 to 32 points. And before each match, they performed the haka to mentally crush the home team before the whistle even blew. But on December the 16th, they came to Cardiff Arms Park, and the Welsh weren't about to be intimidated. The exact second the All Blacks finished their haka, Welsh player Teddy Morgan turned to his team and started singing Myfanwy. Within seconds, 47,000 Welsh fans joined in. A literal wall of Welsh song that left the unstoppable New Zealanders utterly stunned. It was the first time a national anthem was ever sung in a sporting event. And it worked. Wales won 3-0.
