Welcome back
to my series hiking
in Cincinnati,
where Rocky and I explore
local trails
and let you know if they're
worth visiting.
Today we
checked out Wilderness
Nature Preserve.
Rocky and
I hiked the Trout
Lily Trail,
a one point,
Seven Mile loop that winds through
the woods and opens in a
beautiful meadow.
The trail
is mostly dirt,
well marked
with signs and easy
to follow.
Along the way we found
several benches
where you can stop,
relax, and
enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
The reserve
also offers beautiful gardens
and some
great views overlooking the
Ohio River.
One thing to note is
that there are several side
trails throughout
the preserve,
but many of them are
currently closed
for maintenance.
Be sure to follow the
posted signs
and stay on the
open trails.
Also, watch
out for ticks,
especially in
taller grass sections of
the meadow.
Rocky had
a tick on
him after
our hike.
His flea
and tick medication
quickly took care of it,
but it's still a good
reminder to check yourself
and your
pets when you're finished.
Overall, Rocky
and I really enjoyed
this hike.
It's a
low intensity, peaceful
walk with
scenic views,
making it
a great option
if you're
looking for a relaxing
outdoor adventure.
