welcome back to my series hiking in Cincinnati where Rocky and I explore local trails and let you know if they're worth visiting today my wife joined us for the adventure we checked out Kelly Nature Preserve in Loveland Ohio the preserve features over two miles of well maintained gravel and dirt trails plus access to the Little Miami River for kayaking and canoeing trail markers are clearly posted at every fork making navigation easy we followed the River Walk trail into the Berger's Loop Trail for about one and a half miles the route takes you along the river through the woods and across a peaceful meadow we went on a Wednesday at noon and were surprised by how quiet it was we only passed a handful of people and none of them were walking dogs to finish the hike we relax on a bench overlooking the river while Rocky enjoyed the scenery a couple things to know before you go there are several steep drop offs leading down to the river so keep a close eye on your kids the Riverside section feels secluded and peaceful but you can hear traffic once you move further north away from the water with tick season in full swing we were keeping a close eye out and didn't spot any ticks and good news there's a large parking lot so parking shouldn't be an issue would we come back absolutely
