This is unhinged. Ways to get ahead of the Hair Stylist, part 2. Today we are talking about something that I have done in my own salon, year after year after year, that has really, really helped to create more connections, that has brought in more clients, and that, frankly, is freaking fun. Now, I will say, a lot of hair stylists listening to this probably are just gonna say, peace out, this one's not for me. And I think a lot of hair stylists who do listen and implement this will reap the rewards. Like, I really think you guys will have massive benefit from this. So without further ado, here's what I want for you to do, and here's what has worked so freaking well for my business. Get a stack of gift cards. Now, obviously, if you are an independent stylist, this can be rather difficult to source. Uh, you can do gift certificates. They sell them at like, Office Depot. Look like this. Literally get them and make an amount on the gift card. Maybe it's 25 dollars, maybe it's 50. I like the 25 dollar range. It feels safe. It feels like you're not gonna give too much away. It just works really well. Then you're gonna get a stack of cards and envelopes, and I want for you to handwrite a freaking card. Yes, this card is written on. I have no blank cards in my house, okay? So, we are going to write something along the lines of, hey, I'm so glad that you found this. I am so freaking excited to offer you this gift card to come into our salon to check out the space. Like, I cannot wait to have you in. Make it a little bit more fun than that. If I can find what we've written on the cards, I will literally put the text right here. But we want for this to be really cutesy, really fun, just inviting people into the space. Then you're gonna throw the card and the gift card into your envelope. You're gonna write on the envelope, 'Open me.' Hey, you. Yes, you. This is for you. Open me. And hide them all around your town. Bonus points, while you're doing this, film it, because this can be online and in person marketing together. This is such a fun thing to do. I think people are missing the mark on this, and this will help you grow so damn much, okay? So, you're gonna hide them around town, film it, post a reel, sharing the locations. In fact, my salon did this. Here it is. Then I would highly urge you, I did not do this and I wish I did, but I would highly urge you to let people know when they find the gift card, comment below and tell me the location in which you found it. To let other people know, hey, this clue was found. And then to also basically allow for your post to get more engagement because the more comments you get, the more boosted it will be, okay? So, this can be such a fun way to get a ton more reach online, but also for the people in your town. This is so cute and so fun, and what a cool way to just build community and bring people together. I swear to you, every single time I have done this, it has brought so many new clients in, and I think it is such a fun way to grow. And I think that it really does help get your name out there too, because are you kidding me? If I find that little note hidden on a bench somewhere that says, 'Open me,' I open it up and I get a gift card to your salon, I am going and telling people about it. That is the coolest damn thing.
