l learned No. 4 way too late! 1️⃣ Being good at your job and being seen as valuable are not the same thing. One gets you kept. The other gets you promoted. 2️⃣ Your first job is data, not destiny. It is showing you what you will and will not accept. Use that information. 3️⃣ Loyalty without leverage is just expensive. If you have nothing to negotiate with, you have no power in the relationship. 4️⃣ Your manager’s style will impact your career more than the company name on your CV. Choose who you work for as carefully as where. 5️⃣ Hard work gets you in the room. Strategy gets you promoted. You need both but do not confuse them. 6️⃣ If you do not advocate for yourself, people will assume you are fine where you are. Nobody is sitting around wondering if you deserve more. 7️⃣ Being indispensable in your current role is not the same as being promoted out of it. Sometimes it is the reason you stay stuck. 8️⃣ If you do not learn to negotiate, you teach people your floor. And they will keep coming back to it. 9️⃣ You are not underpaid because you are unqualified. You are underpaid because you have not made staying underpaid uncomfortable enough for them. 🔟 Your 20s are for building leverage, not proving endurance. Stop performing how hard you can suffer and start building options. Follow @saltandlightcoaching for more 🤍 #careers #careercoach #jobsearch #careeradvice #recruiter
