I learned that the ancient Greeks had their own version of MMA. It's exactly like modern MMA with boxing, takedowns, and even submissions. Except they were butt ass naked and drenched in olive oil. They even had a GOAT of the sport. This dude called Theagenes of Thasos. He had Olympic gold medals in pankration and boxing. Dual sport athlete. And this is the craziest part, this guy's record was 1400-0 and had 24 title wins. He was apparently so dominant people were convinced he wasn't even mortal and thought he was the son of Hercules.
