I was playing this game called Maple Story and don't judge me but I play as a woman and I was doing a boss fight or a "pq" and for some reason all the other people were women except for one guy. And of course in typical guy fashion the first thing this guy said was "oh my god I'm surrounded by ladies, any y'all single?" One of the women said "ew gross." Then all the other women said "men are disgusting, us ladies gotta stick together." So I didn't really know what to say. So I just said nothing and as the rest of the boss fight went on, they kept talking to me so I just answered and we got along pretty well. They said "hey, we like you, you should join our party, we should do this everyday." So they friended me and we did this everyday for for a few weeks. One time they asked me to join Discord and I said "oh um, that's okay, I'm really shy, I don't like the sound of my voice." And they said "oh no no, that's okay, just sit on the call with us and listen into the gossip." Tea. Okay, so we just talked about schoolwork, relationships, the same thing I talk about with my other woman friends. So it's no different. Sometimes they would send screenshots of the guy that they're talking to and be like "what do y'all think about this?" And I'd say "hmm, if I was a guy I think what he's trying to say is this is this." And the other girls would be like "oh yeah yeah, valid, clock it." Eventually I stopped playing Maple Story. So I told the ladies "hey y'all, I'm gonna take a break from Maple Story but it's been a pleasure being one of the girlies with y'all. Keep at it, we're all gonna find love one day." And it all ended on such a great note. So surprisingly, everything worked out. But it made me wonder, if you were in my shoes, what would you do?
