random house things that can transform into a home decor moment. a statement piece, if you will. every time we think about switching up our home decor, we often think about getting a new throw pillow or buying a new lamp. but there are so many practical things that we use every day that with a simple upgrade can be a whole home decor moment. number one, curtain holdbacks. this has been my personal obsession and honestly, what inspired this video. if you scroll on Etsy, there's a curtain holdback for every design style. I am obsessed with these spiral metal ones. I feel like if I walked into a home and saw a super unique curtain holdback, it would stand out so much more because it's a unique place that most people don't use as a design opportunity. number two, wall hooks. another one that can get super funky and cool. you can find them in almost every material, stone, wood, ceramic, metal. practically, we're using hooks in our entryways, in our bathrooms, to switch out the generic Amazon hook for something with a lot more uniqueness or something that really shows our personality. number three, candle sconces, which has also been my recent addiction. the metal ones are often super reminiscent of Spanish revival design style, which brings in a ton of character. the ceramic ones I see are super unique either in the shape that they're molded in or in the glaze. especially if you're a renter and you can't drill behind the wall, thinking that a light sconce could look really good and instead replacing it with a candle sconce, especially a ceramic one, could add such a perfect pop of color. number four, knobs & tassels. I know you've probably heard of changing your knobs out before, but yes, it makes a difference. I want to talk about adding a tassel to it. such a small detail to put just a little tassel over the knob. I feel like that would catch my eye because it's so unique. it's something that we're not used to seeing. I think we overlook a lot of these smaller, more niche home decor moments because we automatically think of the more stereotypical home decor elements like throw pillows or a new coffee table. I think these smaller, more practical home decor moments we can make will make so much more of a bigger impact than a new coffee table. I'm just saying, we need to think outside the box.
