since when did drinking coffee on the couch morning routine and lounging around morning routine become a guilty pleasure and lounging around all morning 5:00am morning routines morning routine absurdly expensive workout classes morning routine cold plunging, journaling, meditation having a 17 step skincare routine all before 9:00am all before 9:00am now none of those things are inherently bad actually quite the opposite those are all good things you should be doing my question is... if it's so good why do I hate it so much??? as someone who has tried and failed at the "productivity maxing" morning routine it consistently left me feeling like a LOSER I would keep up the routine for a little bit but inevitably something would throw me off the routine and leave me feeling discouraged and burnt out and then I asked myself... why the hell is my morning routine burning me out why am I trying to "productivity-max" first thing after I wake up and then I go into work and "productivity max" some more what I need to be doing is enjoyment maxing heading straight to my coffee machine in my sweats and lounging around on my couch some mornings that's as "productive" as I'm gonna get other mornings sure_ maybe I'll load the dishwasher pick up my room if I have the extra time but my goal in my morning routine isn't to make it the most optimized highly efficient I've actually given myself permission to let it be the opposite. highly inefficient this short time frame where I can just enjoy myself no to-do list no plan just quality time spent with myself how many hours in our day do we dedicate to that??? I'm here to tell you that comfort and balance does not equal laziness. we are complex creatures and taking a couple hours in the morning to yourself might just be what your mental and body is craving <3
