These are are 5 things I do every single month to keep me on track financially! What’s something you do? 1. Log every single one of my expenses in my budget. Every transaction from me the month is included. You have to know where all your money is going. If possible do this weekly vs just once a month bc it can be overwhelming. 2. Pay off my credit card in full. Now that I’m responsibiky using credit cards, I put all my spending on them and then pay them off. I know if you’re on a debt payoff journey this might not be possible right now so if not make an extra payment to the debt you’re trying to payoff to create the habit. 3. Review my spending! This goes back to no.1. The reason you log all your expenses is to see what categories you spend in. Did you stay on track? Did you go to over in any categories? Are you underfunding a category? Was there an unexpected expense? This will help you get to know your spending habits and adjust for the next month. 4. Look at the calendar and see what’s planned for the month. Are there any appointments, fees, travel plans, birthdays, holidays that need to be worked into the budget? August is back to school time. Have you allocated funds for school supplies, clothes, fees?! 5. Calculate my net worth! This is your assets minus your liabilities. Mine started out negative but each month it got a little closer to being positive. It’s worth tracking even if you’re in debt because you still have a networth! I built my budget template to do all these things for you because it was what I needed to pay off $73k of credit card debt in 15 months and what I’m using now to tackle over $100k of student loans! It’s a one-stop-shop tool. It’s 🔗 in my profile. #budget #firstofthemonth #budgetingforbeginners #Budgeting #debtpayoff
