my budget went up
3 new expenses
I've added to
my budget in
July
all of which
improve my life!
@breakyourbudget
new gym
I've heard over and over again that I should be lifitng heavy weights - but I don't know the proper way to do it and I also don't want to just figure it out!
so I joined a semi-private training gym, and I am on a new weight lifting program to build muscle!
THE ADD
This costs me $360
per month for 12
sessions. I think it's
very reasonable! I'm
also seeing a real
change and I
actually love it!
ceramics studio
I need (and want) more phone-free hobbies! On my birthday, I took myself to a ceramics class and absolutely loved it.
to get more practice and learn, I decided to join the studio so I can start developing this hobby and see where it takes me.
It has been such a fun new challenge and I find that it's the perfect way to put my phone away, get creative, and actually MAKE something
my first attempt

cup
THE ADD
This is $250 per month and worth every single penny
(to me)
@breakyourbudget
my groceries
I've been shopping at the farmers market a lot more (I give myself $40 per week) and since I have been doing more weightlifting, I have been prioritizing eating at home and generally eating MORE.
This has translated into a higher grocery bill, and I think it's here to stay. I don't mind spending money on high quality food, especially with all the food-borne illness floating around lately. Plus, I have been shopping locally and more seasonally!
THE ADD
About $100 a month
more than usually
@breakyourbudget
every new expense I
add is evaluated with
CONTEXT
how does this fit into my budget? am I seeing a real impact on my quality of life? I evalute this inside the Personal Finance Dashboard, and couldn't make these decisions confidently without it!!
