Last week I made a video on the 5 signs you're being pushed out of the workplace and it kind of blew up. But what do you actually do when you spot them? If this is the first time you're seeing me, hi, I'm Daria, a c-suite headhunter and I turn what I see in hiring into advice for the girls building big careers like me. So you've clocked it, your workplace is trying to get rid of you. What do you do now? First, this is crucial, you don't take it personally. There will be some workplaces that are just committed to misunderstanding you. Sometimes it's you, sometimes it's them, sometimes the match just doesn't work. You're not going to internalize it, you're just gonna snap into action mode. Second thing, you're gonna start looking for a job if you haven't already. Get your processes in place. In order to do this, you're gonna have to disconnect a little bit. 5. Don't go above and beyond. Leave energy for other things. Bonus tip, stop thinking about references. If you're lucky, you'll have some allies at work that can cover these for you. Or you might have some from previous jobs. If you don't have any, you can just be honest with your new employer. They get it, they'll have a little instinct that they have to exercise to tell that you're a good person. Most likely they will give you a chance. Three, you're not gonna try and fix it. Some workplaces that just don't get you, that is not your problem. So once you can call out, don't go above and beyond to fix it. Disconnect. Stop thinking about it. Talk to people outside your work, your commitment should be clear. You are leaving. Fourth thing you're gonna do is rise above the drama. When I was working in a job being made to feel like I shouldn't be there, on the chin. I don't want me here. Cool. That's not my problem. In that three month period where I knew I was quitting, I was just waiting for the right moment. I got so good at what I was asked of me, complaining, anything. I practiced gray rocking. I reacted when the day ended, I didn't think about work. This is honestly the freeing part that actually rewired my brain and helped me realize that a job is just a job. Five. Document, but not in the way you think. You definitely don't need any kind of gathering to defend your job. You'll just up your CV and make a note of everything you worked on so you keep a mental contribution of your contribution to the company. They might not appreciate it, but it's really important that you remember your wins. These are all things you can talk about in interviews going forward. It will help you have a more raised accent. That career, grudges, speaking badly about your former employer, only makes you feel worse. So do what you need to do to go a way. If no one told you this, any kind of rejection is redirection. Just don't be a hero and stay to prove something. This resonated. Follow along for all things careers.
