Protecting the water, rights of Native American and indigenous people affects more than just natives. Native American and indigenous people are very outspoken regarding pipelines like the Dakota pipeline, but also the fact that water is being tapped and sold to companies like Nestlé. Native American and indigenous sovereign territories, rely on water tables and water sources that are outside of our nations because nature does not follow treaties or boundaries. And when the government sells these areas or these water resources they directly affect native people and long term non natives as well.
