The Canada Miss universe pageant had some major misteps this year when it came to Native American and indigenous costumes. Non native contestants were wearing native inspired “costumes” and faux regalia headdress. It was found out by Emma Morrison that Etsy was the source of headdress and a costume site was the source of the low cut artic beauty costume. @Ashley Callingbull called out the miss universe Canada pageant and they have since given an apology and named her the liaison for the costume contest portion going forward to make sure that there is not another instance of Native American or indigenous, cultural appropriation. #IndigenousTikTok ##nativeamerican##nativefamily#mi#missuniverse
