Replying to @blue The Buffalo/bison were so important to the plains because they were part of a larger ecosystem that ultimately affected everyone and not just Native American and indigenous people. Many of those who are part of Westwood expansion we’re trying to eliminate Native American and indigenous communities and one way to do that was to diminish their food source, which was the buffalo/bison. What they didn’t realize at the time was that by removing the buffalo/bison and removing the Native American and indigenous people and plowing the land and making it farmland, they removed the deep root systems that held the topsoil down. And because the demand for wheat was so high because of World War I so much if it was removed, and when the drought came and the wind came all of the topsoil that was no longer held down formed at the dust blizzards and the dust bowl. Ultimately this affected so many non-native American and indigenous people, and it could’ve been prevented if they had let native and indigenous people continue to be the stewards of the land and remain on their ancestral territories. ##nativeamerican#N#NativeTikTokI#IndigenousTikTokl#learnontiktokh#History
