I made the mistakes so you don’t have to: 1️⃣ your first job doesn’t decide the rest of your life - use it to learn as much as possible, figure out what you like/dislike, and THEN decide if you want to stick with it or move on 2️⃣ it’s FINE to make friends at work - not everyone is evil and out to get you, just use your discernment 3️⃣ always prioritise working smarter, not harder - torturing yourself with extra pointless work is never the answer 4️⃣ some people in the office just won’t like you, and spending hours trying to figure out why is a waste of time - learn how to brush it off and just focus on yourself 5️⃣ it’s not embarrassing to care about your career and to want to do a good job - having that mindset will pay off some day 6️⃣ a new job is a fresh start - you can build a whole new personal brand and be whoever you want to be, these people don’t know who you were before 7️⃣ being too scared to ask questions will waste you so much time working on things that just don’t matter - clarity over everything 8️⃣ make friends in different departments at your company - you need to build a network of people that have your back and are willing to help you when you need it 9️⃣ don’t let people make you feel small in the office - you were hired for a reason, your experience and perspective is valuable, make that known 🔟sometimes you have to make the mistake yourself to learn the lesson - every experience is an opportunity to become better #corporatelife #careers #careeradvice #jobsearch #jobs
