You all ask me all the time about restaurants and how those parent companies give politically. I've done a lot of research, and I can point to five that are much more progressive than the rest! The first one is Panda Express. They don't give to politics as a company. However, the founder of the company gives overwhelmingly to the Democratic platform. In 2022, he donated to every Democratic Party in a state where a Panda Express was located. Another one is Shake Shack. Doesn't give to politics as a company. However, Danny Meyer, the founder and chairman, only gives to Democrats. If you love late night tacos, Jack in the Box is owned by Yadav Enterprises. They don't give to politics, but the owner and founder of this company only gives to Democrats. There's also Five Guys, which is privately held by the Murrell family. They don't give to politics as a company. The wife of the founder gives only to Democrats. One of the sons has given and it was to a Republican. They stay out of politics, and when they tend to give, they tend to give more to the Democratic platform! We have Texas Roadhouse. This one always surprises people because it has the word "Texas" in it. But they have never given to politics as a company. And when it comes to their senior leaders and other employees, they've given much more to the Democratic platform!
