One of my biggest pet peeves as a restaurant chef is when people leave the shells on the shrimp when it’s tossed in a pasta or a fried rice dish or anything that should be eaten with silverware. . The only time shrimp shells should be left on is when they are intended to be picked up by the shell for dipping. Small shrimp like popcorn, shrimp the shells should definitely be removed.. . It’s a choking hazard. It’s annoying to have to pick through shells when you’re trying to enjoy a pasta dish. And I immediately think less of the restaurant when I see it.. . What’s your opinion on the matter?
