I come to this place for magic, and this is how you treat me? The Dune ticket release was an absolute cluster--. I don't have tickets yet, I don't know if I will, because when the app started breaking, they just pulled them. They're not all sold out, they're just not offering it to you, and maybe they'll drop them in the app eventually, but what I do know is that camped out in line at the AMC Lincoln Square bought tickets. I have problems with for different reasons, but it is essentially a consequence of the concertification of movie tickets that because one person at Universal decided a year ago that they were Odyssey, but now we have to plan months in advance to buy movie tickets. And that's gonna happen forever. And because of this, you've now created a secondary market, and the theaters don't care who's giving them the money, they just care if they get the money. But this guy who buys 80 tickets doesn't actually 80 tickets, because unlike concert scalpers who are leeches, yes, but they at least shoulder some responsibility for their decision, if they can't sell them, they eat the cost. They don't have to do that because movie tickets are structured around people going to the movies. If you can't make it, they will give you a refund, come back another time. Every single one of those 80 tickets can be canceled right up until showtime for a full refund. If you noticed a bunch screening of the Odyssey in IMAX 70mm, that's why. And obviously the theaters are gonna close that loophole, but what that's gonna do is impact the way that you as a normal consumer decide to go to the other people in line are buying into this eventizing, concertification of movies, and I get it, of movies, and I get it, other choice. You can't just stop the theaters from doing that, but it's never gonna get better if people keep going along with it. And the worst thing about this to me is that if you're gonna turn this into an event, if you're gonna cash in on the fact that all of these people who don't normally go to want to come back, experience. Don't tell people that they can't even give you their money to get a ticket, because you've decided to do this in the worst way possible, and even though this happens every single time you never do anything to fix it. You should be using this as an opportunity to show movies is fun, they should do it more often, and they shouldn't only come when there's a big new IMAX release. And there's no way to fix this, like the theaters just want the money. They don't care who they're not gonna put a limit on how many tickets you can buy. Change the refunds, but they're not gonna say a-list members come first, because a-list members don't make them the most money, they just want people buying full price tickets, and if it's a scalper, it's a scalper, as long as the tickets stay sold. It just sucks and not just 'cause I'm sure I'll get one eventually. It sucks because this should be an opportunity to get a lot more people to support going to the movie theaters again. This is an excuse to get should show them a good time, they should enjoy it, back more often than just for these big tentpole blockbusters. But when you do this, and you make it hard for them to get tickets, not to mention all of the normal people who aren't as online as us who have no idea they dropped today, who are gonna check in normally would for a movie and find out that they just cannot see it. It's ruining it for so many people. This is why people hate movie theaters, because we refuse to make the experience of going which is more expensive than ever before, easy and fun and reliable. Easy and fun and reliable. The experience has gotten worse at every step of the way, and they're never gonna change that, and so eventually, movies are gonna pay the price for that. Oh, and if you think this ends here, the concertification it's gonna turn into dynamic pricing, that's the next thing. If they see that the demand is high enough that they and people will line up behind all these scalpers and whatever, they're just gonna charge more. They're gonna block AMC they're gonna say this is full price, it's in demand, now it's more, that's what happens. Don't let another thing take that awful model. Also, if you buy from a as bad as them, you're part of the problem.
