I think this is the absolute worst way to watch a movie. Spider-Man brand new day has been shot for Screen X. If you're not familiar, Screen X is this format where there are extra projectors shooting onto the side of the movie theater. It's supposed to immerse you more. I don't love it, we'll get to that in a second, but they had people from Screen X on the set with special cameras to capture real footage for the side screens. Most of the time, movies are projecting digital extensions of the scene onto the side, not real footage from the camera. And sometimes in the past, they have gotten Top Gun Maverick, I think, had extra cameras, they were able to fill the screens, but this is being from the moment they were planning that's a good step to it seeming like a legitimate format to see a movie in. But my problem is that Screen X is never as good in practice as it is conceptually. Like, it never looks like that. It looks like this. The side screens are dim, there are exit signs in the middle of them, and they never really quite match up. Sometimes there's seams at the edge, misaligned. It's just a poor execution of a not bad idea, but it's the sort of idea that probably should stay in amusement park rides where it came from. It just doesn't work, and I don't think you should spend your money, I think you should go see it in any other format. But let me know what you think
