In case you missed it, Tyson is laying off more than 3,300 employees across Illinois and Utah. This brings their total this year to 5,000 employees they've laid off! More than 3,000 Tyson Foods workers impacted by latest round of plant closures. Is a result of historic cattle shortages, as well as consolidating their operations to other plants. I've talked about Tyson before. They're a very Republican company and they donated $1 million to Donald Trump's inauguration in 2025. Keeping in mind that Tyson is a very Republican company that supports an industry that's also very Republican, that is the beef and poultry industry. Let me let you in on a little secret. Tyson has been investing in cultivated or lab grown meat for years! Back in 2018, Tyson Ventures, the venture capital portion of the corporation, invested in "Believer Meat" as well as Upside Foods, which are both working towards cultivated meat from animal cells. Now, I'm not saying these two things are directly related, but it is interesting that they're continuing to cut traditional jobs from their original business model and investing in lab grown meat technology.
