Tap the link in my bio to learn how to draw with the drawing drills course. Because it’s worth doing. If technology can do something faster, that doesn’t automatically make doing it yourself pointless. Sometimes doing it is the point. We don’t play guitar because Spotify doesn’t exist. We don’t cook because there’s no other way to get food. And we don’t draw because it’s the fastest possible way to produce an image. Drawing gives you a place where your mind and the physical world actually meet. An empty page starts as nothing. Then through thousands of tiny decisions, you determine what gets to exist there. The line goes here. The shadow goes there. This form turns toward you. That one disappears behind it. And slowly, something that existed only in your mind becomes visible. That process has value regardless of how quickly a machine can produce an image. Alan Watts famously used music and dancing to make a similar point: if the purpose were simply to reach the end, the best musicians would be the ones who played fastest. But the destination was never the point. The experience of making it is.
