Okay, this one is REAL—and it launched today. 👀 Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker is serving as honorary chair of a new political operation called Ready for the Fight PAC, which plans to spend at least $20 million helping Democrats compete in House races ahead of the November 2026 midterms. Pritzker is putting millions of his own money into the effort while the PAC also raises from other donors. And here’s the part that has my attention: They’re not planning to spend all $20 million defending the safest, most obvious Democratic territory. They want to go on offense. The PAC says Democrats shouldn’t “retreat to a handful of battleground races” and plans to invest in Republican-leaning districts that might normally get overlooked. Its first targets include Ohio’s 7th District and Texas’ 23rd—districts Trump carried in 2024. Pritzker explained the strategy today: the obvious swing districts are already attracting enormous amounts of money, so he wants to put resources into redder districts where the national environment might create an unexpected Democratic pickup. And the timing isn’t accidental. With fewer than two months until Election Day, control of Congress is genuinely competitive. Republicans’ once-comfortable expectations for retaining the Senate have deteriorated as voters remain unhappy about the economy and Trump’s approval rating has fallen. Meanwhile, Trump and Republicans are holding an unusual midterm national convention in Dallas this week, with Trump deliberately making himself the centerpiece of the 2026 Republican campaign. So yes. Fight everywhere. Make Republicans spend money defending districts they assumed were safe. Contest the seats nobody thought were contestable. Make extremism electorally expensive. And for the love of all things holy, stop walking into political knife fights armed with decorum and a strongly worded press release. 😭 Pritzker has described the divide inside the Democratic Party as: “Team fight” versus “team cave.” And said exactly which one he’s on. Same, JB. Same. 🔥 #JBPritzker #Election2026 #Midterms2026 #Democrats #USPolitics
