👉🏻 His previous family said he has never been aggressive with other dogs, but he prefers to be a loner and doesn’t like being around large groups of dogs. I am not sure what that means, but it sounds like he can tolerate another dog? Because of this, if you have another dog, I highly recommend bringing your dog for a meet and greet with Max before adopting him. ⬇️ READ HIS STORY ⬇️ The other day, someone at the shelter texted me saying that there was a 14-year-old dog who had just been surrendered. That alone broke my heart…🥺 Then I found out that Max had actually been adopted from this very same shelter five years ago, in 2021, when he was just 9 years old. Now, at 14 years old, his family has brought him back because they said they could no longer afford to care for him. I went to meet Max, take him for a walk, record a video for him, and hopefully cheer him up a little bit. But walking Max completely broke my heart. Before we even made it outside, Max stopped in the hallway and just stared at the exact same door he had walked through only two days earlier when he was surrendered. 💔 Except this time, he was standing there with a stranger, in a place he didn’t know. I couldn’t help but wonder… Was he looking for his person? Was he waiting for them to come back? Once we went outside, he kept sniffing the air and looking into the distance, almost like he was searching for someone. He doesn’t know this, but unfortunately, I know something he doesn’t… The person he’s looking for isn’t coming back. 💔 I’m hoping this video can help us find a new person for Max. Someone who will love him, care for him, and give him the peaceful life he deserves during his golden years. Max is also neutered and ready for his new home.
