🍎Apple Cinnamon Oat Bars Aldi £25 Shop Recipe Makes: 8 or 16 bars A cosy apple pie-inspired breakfast bar made with simple ingredients. Perfect for breakfast, lunchboxes or an easy snack. Recipe note: I remade these and added natural yoghurt to the mixture. The yoghurt helps to round out the flavour and gives the bars a slightly creamier, richer texture while keeping them soft and moist. Ingredients * 650g Aldi apple sauce (approximately 2 jars) * 200g natural yoghurt * 2 eggs * 75g soft brown sugar (or light brown sugar) * 300g rolled oats * 2½ tsp cinnamon * 1 tsp vanilla extract * 2 tsp baking powder * ¾ tsp salt Method 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C fan and line a 20cm square baking tin with baking paper. 2. In a large bowl, mix together the apple sauce, yoghurt, eggs, sugar and vanilla extract. 3. Add the oats, cinnamon, baking powder and salt, then stir until combined. 4. Spread the mixture into the lined tin and bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and set. 5. Allow to cool completely before slicing into 8- 16 bars. To serve: Serve with a spoonful of natural yoghurt, a drizzle of honey or maple syrup and an extra sprinkle of cinnamon for the ultimate apple pie breakfast. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for easy breakfasts and snacks. Storage Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. For the best texture, allow them to come to room temperature for a few minutes before eating, or gently warm in the microwave if you prefer them slightly softer. These bars are also freezer friendly. Once completely cooled, slice into bars and freeze in a freezer-safe container or bag for up to 3 months. Freeze with pieces of baking paper between the bars so they don’t stick together. Defrost overnight in the fridge or for a couple of hours at room temperature before serving. Prep ahead tip: Make a batch at the weekend and you’ll have easy breakfasts or lunchbox snacks ready to grab throughout the week. Much Love, Jade x
