Some of the things we laugh off as “just adulthood” are actually signs you’ve been under too much pressure for too long. Here are 6 unhealthy jokes 🔽 ——— Hi, I’m Sasha 👋 Together with a doctor, I’m building Anticipate App for chronic stress and burnout. It helps you: • track your patterns • spot burnout early • slow down instead of pushing through Search “Anticipate” on the App Store. ——— 1. “Haha, I’m basically powered by coffee.” When you need caffeine just to feel remotely functional, exhaustion may already be becoming your baseline. Not okay. 2. “I’ll sleep when I’m old.” You’re exhausted, but work, scrolling or a wired brain keep pushing sleep later and later. Not okay. 3. “I don't remember the last time I ate.” Stress can mess with appetite and digestion until skipping meals starts feeling completely normal. Not okay. 4. “Sorry, my brain is fried.” Forgetting words, rereading the same thing five times, losing your train of thought, and turning brain fog into a personality trait. Not okay. 5. "I need a weekend after my weekend.” Your days off stop being your life and become emergency maintenance so you can survive Monday again. Not okay. 6. “If one more person asks me for something, I’m going to lose it.” Tiny requests suddenly feel unbearable because you have almost no emotional capacity left. Not okay. The wild part is how normal we’ve made this sound. We joke about being exhausted. We brag about surviving on caffeine. We call constant irritability “just being busy.” But if your normal life requires you to constantly override what your body is asking for, it may be time to pay attention. Save this if you needed the reminder. 🤍 #burnout #burnoutawareness #burnoutprevention #mentalhealthmatters #takecareofyou
