There's going to be a massive spike in depression when Gen Z reaches mid to late 30s, okay? Because a lot of these people will have accomplished nothing with their life. Everyone is so stuck on the way things should be that they can't cope with the way that things are. The world does not care about fair. This is a topic I tried to talk about when the whole ice coffee and interview thing happened, and still so many people missed the point. Because at the end of the day there are two things you can do. You can either complain about how unfair the world is, how you haven't gotten everything that you've wanted, or you can make do with what you have in your current situation. And the unfortunate part is that a lot of Gen Z has gotten into this headspace that if you complain enough about something, the world is just going to bend to your desires, when that is not the case for the majority of situations. And this is probably only going to get worse with later generations. Kids in elementary and middle school can't score anything lower than a 50%, even if they don't turn anything in. As society progresses, we keep pushing this idea to later generations that the world is going to be fair and balanced and everything is going to work out in the end, and you have to accept that that's not how the world works. Life is unfair, bad things happen, and of course I'm not saying that that's okay, you should be doing things to make society a better place. But if you spend all of your time complaining and whining about why you didn't get what you wanted, you're not going to get anywhere. You can both advocate for a better society and make the best of your current situation. It does not have to be one or the other.
