I bring sales and marketing together and I'm telling you if your team resists change, if your team resists change, you can't get any initiatives implemented. But don't fret. Here are three things that you can do to turn things around. So Debra, a registered nurse and team lead in the hospital reached out to me after watching several of my TikToks and told me a challenge that she is facing. She needs to launch a new initiative at her hospital, but she's facing major pushback. So she asked me, what should I do? I told her people naturally resist change, me included. It is very normal, but the key is to get buy in first. So step one, can she call a meeting, formally explain the initiative and ask for feedback, and genuinely listen to what people have to say. People support what they help create. Another option is to get management support. It helps to build that momentum if you have management on your side and also is top down driven. Step two, show what's in it for them. Show what's in it for them. If they see the benefit, they will engage. Make it clear how this change helps them. Will that make their jobs a whole lot easier? Can they do things faster? Make that very clear. Step number three, keep reinforcing it. Even with buy in, change isn't instant. You need to educate, monitor and reinforce it until it sticks. I told her it's a lot of work. She nodded. Change isn't a one-time event. It is a journey. It is. Especially in the COVID setting. I told her to give it a try and keep me posted. And then she needs to stay on top of it. There's not much you can do about it. And then you will see the progress happening slowly. Any other suggestions that you would like to add? Comment below. Take care.
