Here's exactly how everyone is building a home in Texas for just 3% down without a construction loan. You don't have to buy the land first. It's all one transaction so you only come out of pocket the 3%. You start off by visiting a model home park like this one where there's over 30 builders on one street. And once you pick your builder, you'll select your plot of land that they will sell you combined with the finished home at the end. Then you'll pick from 10 to 12 different floor plans which each have 3 to 4 different exterior options called elevations that change the exterior of the home. From there you'll go to a design center to customize almost everything from brick color and interior finishes or adding in sliding walls. And in 4 to 6 months your home will be done. Then you buy the finished home with the land using a standard mortgage which means you only have to put 3% down as long as it's your primary home. And since there's so many builders in one area trying to win your business, they're offering interest rates as low as 2.99%, throwing in all the appliances, paying your closing costs, or giving you up to $50,000 in design center credit. But what do you think? Would you build a home in Texas?
