Unpopular opinion: Marrying your best friend isn't enough. I think some truth for me was that I was married to my best friend and someone who I loved deeply and cared deeply about, but someone who was never my romantic partner. I remember growing up my grandma was like, just marry your best friend. And I was like, I found my best friend. But I think you need to marry your best friend who's also your lover. There is a distinct difference. There is a distinct difference. When you guys first got together or first got married, was there like a part of you that was like, is this it? There was a part of me that was like, is this it? And I just kept pushing it down and pushing it down and pushing it down because there was so much that was good that I was like, oh, we'll figure out the intimacy piece. I had had relationships where that was very strong, but other aspects of the relationship were destructive or, you know, they weren't emotionally available that I was kind of like, oh, it's okay that that chemistry intimacy piece isn't there. Maybe it's actually a good thing. This is so stable and I'm so safe. Exactly. So stable and safe. And the other things were unsafe and unstable. You then associate intimacy with instability and high highs and low lows, because of what you've seen in that form. Exactly. But there clearly is an option to have both.
