When motherhood begins with a story of survival. And right away, they chose to stay with me and he has a mask covering him but he's crying really hard. Oh my god. And more to the room and I have a doctor in my ear saying, hey, I just want to let you know you're having a severe postpartum hemorrhage. We're going to prepare you to get your uterus removed and I just want you to manage your panic and your stress and I want to let you know I'm here for you. And I looked at her and I said, I want to let you know I want to live first and foremost. Second, I would love to save my uterus. I wasn't ready to let go of it today. And so to put it in perspective, a postpartum hemorrhage is classified in a vaginal birth as more than 500ml. In a C-section, more than a thousand. In a severe postpartum hemorrhage, is 1500ml. In the course of my day, I hemorrhaged 3500ml. I lost more than half of my blood supply. Absolutely insane. And it was really scary because witnessing panic and fear in doctors is something that you know doesn't happen often. But and this is where information is power, there is something called the JADA system. So the JADA system is a tool that they can place on your uterus that acts as a vacuum, that can suck everything in. So it allows the uterus to both contract and collapse. The JADA system saved my life. Or I should say it really saved my uterus. Both. Yep.
