Everybody in business says that titles don't matter, and I used to agree with them, but they're actually, I'll just give an example. Let's say you hire someone when you have five employees. They come in and they kill it for one role, but you're so excited about them that you give them a VP or SVP of title, right? Something that signifies that they are very senior. And then the company grows. It grows to 25 people or 35 people or 40 people, and they can't figure out how to keep up with that growth. Really at no fault to them. They just don't have the experience going from managing, like, three people to 20 people or 25 people. It's a completely different job. And you're stuck, and they're stuck because they were given this title, they are that, like, their identity because they're a high-achieving person and that's who you want. But they can't actually do what the title is at this stage of the company. There's no going back. So, to hire someone over them, it's gonna destroy them. It ends up leading to a scenario where they, there has to be an exit plan. So, it's a hard lesson that I've seen lots of friends who run businesses deal with where you get so excited about someone, the awesome title, and then the company changes, and then it's not working out and there's no going back. So, long way to say titles. Titles actually do matter.
