I just did my Mayan calendar zodiac and ChatGPT And if you haven't done it, I highly recommend you do it. I'll leave the prompt in the caption. But my soul evolution requires for it releasing anyties quickly, not clinging to old success and allowing for reintervention. And this could not be more true for where I'm at in life. It brought me back to one of the financial concepts that people truly struggle to conceptualize and that's sunk cost. People don't just struggle with this with money. I think they struggle with it in life in general. Sunk cost is the idea that what is done is done. Money that you've already spent, that's gone. Time and energy that maybe you invested into something, you're never getting that back. So using a past investment to try to justify a future decision, that's just not logical. You don't continue a project because of what you've already put into it. You continue it because of what it's going to give you in the future. When I was leaving my career in finance last year, so many people were like, 'You've worked so hard for this. You have all these financial licenses, you're just going to give this all up?' But the truth is, everything I did up until this point, it was already done. I wasn't going to get that time back either way. So staying just because I had already invested 11 years of my life into this, that would have been the mistake. It just didn't excite me anymore. I didn't look at my boss and say, 'Oh, I want your job.' People try to use this justification in relationships all the time. You've been with someone for five years, deep down you know it's not the right thing. However, you keep telling yourself, 'But I've invested five years of my life into this.' That's a sunk cost. Reintervention feels scary for a lot of people because it forces you to stop worshipping your past efforts. Just because something once made sense, doesn't mean it still does. So if you're in one of these situations, ask yourself, are you building your future or are you protecting your past?
