I hate to be the one to tell you, but you are the reason why you're insecure and you lack self-trust and self-confidence. You can't even keep a promise that you made to yourself. You say you're waking up in the morning super early, 6:00 a.m. comes around, the alarm goes off, you're pressing snooze. You say that you're going to learn a skill, and then the time comes around and you're saying, I'll do it later, I'm too busy. You say that you're going to raise your standards, yet you're continuously tolerating disrespect. You are setting the standard for how you deserve to be treated, and you are showing the world, the universe, everybody, how they can treat you. Self-trust is not going to come from doing affirmations and journaling. It's going to come when you gather enough evidence to show yourself that you are a new version of you. But we're not just here to call it out, we're here to actually change it. So here are three habits that will build self-trust really fast. And the last one's the best. Number one, make smaller promises to yourself and keep all of them. No more, I'm going to the gym five days a week when you never work out. Say you're going to the gym at least two times this week. You're maybe doing two 20-minute at-home workouts. Start small and start realistic. No saying, this week I'm going to learn a new skill. Break it down. This week, at least 30 minutes every single day, I'm going to sit down and do some research on new things that I'm interested in that can actually create change in my life. Number two, prioritize the harder things first. Set non-negotiables that you need to do every single day and prioritize getting it done. For your errands, over cleaning your apartment, over your meal prep, you're going to do that anyway. Why? It's a part of your routine. It's right there in your face. Before you do that, get done the stuff that you don't want to do, that you've been pushing off, that's a bit harder for you to actually get done. When you get the harder things done and out of the way first, everything else is so much easier. Why? Because you're used to doing that. And number three, this is the most important one. Make decisions faster, no more waiting. Waiting and I need to think about it, I need to marinate on it, that's just procrastination. You're showing yourself that you do not trust your gut, you do not trust your instinct, and you do not follow it. And why is that? Because you have a habit of not doing that. Learn to trust your gut. You're doing it or you're not, you're in or you're out. Which is it? The longer that you wait and you try to ruminate on it and you're marinating and thinking about it, you're going to be flopping back and forth because you're putting too much time on it and you're honestly wasting time instead of making a decision.
