Why it worked

The video uses a 'build in public' approach by showing the raw, unglamorous reality of cold calling, which builds authority and trust for his coaching business.

Summary

The creator records a cold call to a construction company where he is rejected because the business is already working with an agency. He then explains that this is likely one of his students' clients and moves on to the next call.

Structure

1Creator cold calls a construction business
2Business owner rejects the pitch
3Creator reflects on the rejection
4Creator mentions his students and moves on

Product placement

The creator implies he runs a coaching program for SMMA students.

Transcript

Hi, sorry. Am I free to the owner of DH Builders? Yes, you are brother. How can I help you? Yeah, hi. My name is Jeronimo and the reason for this call, I'm calling local construction companies in London. I'm based in London myself by the way. Just looking to help out local construction companies in the area. Do you have maybe 20 seconds to hear me out? Look, listen brother. Look, I get these calls every single day. Look, I'm already working with an agency. They're doing really well. We're booked out for the next 6-12 months. I can't, you know, ask for anything else. I'm busy. I'm on a site right now. No problem. No problem. That's absolutely fine. What we can do is get on a quick... Take care. Ah, fair enough. Guy said he's booked out with an agency already. Nothing much I can do there. Probably one of our students taking these construction companies, but fair enough. They're fulfilling on the delivery, which is sick. Probably getting paid well. So, on to the next.
