One of the ways that I was able to go from earning £100,000 in my first year as a creator to £260,000 in my second year was from better understanding how to charge for usage rights whether that's on like a UGC job or traditional influencer brand deal type of job. And honestly, it came from this light bulb moment that as a content creator I own media. The big problem with this though, I think is that usage and how to properly charge for them is one of the most like smoke and mirrors part of this industry. We know there is no regulation in this industry, there's no standardization. So pay and everything can just be so tricky to understand, which is part of the reason why I love to talk about this so openly. So the best thing that I've learned is to try your best to get that transparency from the brand or like through the agency that the brand is working through on how much the paid spend is behind that ad. Sometimes they will not be transparent on that and also sometimes they genuinely just don't know because they will put paid spend behind it and will toggle it, so they might not actually know the spend that they are going to put behind it. It completely depends on how that ad will perform. But what you need to know as a creator is that you are getting fair pay, fair compensation against this spend that they put to your media. So asking for that budget and charging say like a 20 to 30% ratio, I think is your best first step. If that isn't the case, I would then go for around like a 30 to 50% of your base rate. And then if that seems too high, that can hopefully then push for that transparency conversation to happen. Because essentially you are pricing for something that you do not know over here. I like to cover everything around being a commercial creator, everything the business side of content. There is absolutely loads that I go into. So please follow along for more from me.
