I've had a conspiracy theory about Apple for the last few months and I think that this little enamel pin they just gifted me validates it. Let me explain. Okay, so rewind to a few months ago when Apple released the MacBook Neo. This little character started showing up in all their marketing. It's like, unofficially called the Finder Guy. Finder Guy is a caricature of Apple's Finder tool, which kind of lets you do anything and find anything on your Mac. But here's the thing, aside from just showing up in ads, Apple hasn't really said anything about him. People unofficially call him little Finder Guy, but we know nothing about him and I think that's intentional. Now, Apple's big software announcement event WWDC is tomorrow and I think they're going to announce Finder Guy as their new kind of AI chatbot slash agentic AI tool and it's going to be the little character that runs it all. Now, I think this for three reasons. One, Finder is the perfect transition into an AI chatbot tool that kind of helps you do things. Finder already does that all on a simple level. You can search, you can navigate files, you can ask your Mac to do basic things. Having that be the next level of AI would make a lot of sense. Two, you might ask, why doesn't Apple just use Siri for this? Don't we already have something you can talk to? Wouldn't this just be the next evolution of Siri? Well, yes, but Apple is very, very cautious about rolling out AI tools and with something like an AI chatbot that's conversational and could be agentic, it might be a pretty big risk just to roll that out to people in a trusted product like Siri. So, compartmentalizing it into something like Finder Guy might make a lot of sense. So, if the product isn't received well, it's much easier to just sunset it and change it than risk damaging having to recover Siri's reputation. And lastly, people tend to be intimidated by AI, especially entry-level users that Apple has a lot of. So, characterizing it, instead of it being an agentic AI large learning chat model, it's just Finder Guy. Much easier to talk to, much easier to interact with, much easier to market and explain to folks that may not know what AI is. Anyway, I kind of thought this when I first saw Finder Guy in the marketing, but when I got here to WWDC, the welcome gift they gave me, they usually give us these nice little enamel pins, which are cool, but then they gave us this separate pin. We never get this in a totally separate thing that's just Finder Guy, which leads me to believe that this is special and it's important for some reason and there's going to be a big announcement for some reason. It has its own book. So, I might be totally wrong. I probably am, but if I call this, make sure to come back in the video and comment and tell me how smart I am. Thanks for watching. I'll know tomorrow at WWDC and I'll catch you in the next video.
