7 boundaries I refuse to break as a 4-figure UGC Creator (No matter the paycheck)

1. I never accept the first offer. Brands negotiate every day. So do I. If a brand isn't willing to invest in content, we're probably not the right fit anyway. 2. I don't do gifted collaborations. I understand why some creators do them, but they're not for me. I'd rather buy a product myself than create content in exchange for a £30 moisturiser. My work has value and I price it accordingly. 3. I have a list of brands I'll never work with. Some brands don't align with my values. Some I've had poor experiences with. Either way, no amount of money changes that. 4. I won't promote products I don't genuinely believe in. If I wouldn't spend my own money on it, recommend it to a friend, or use it myself, I'm not putting it in front of my audience. 5. I will happily spend weeks negotiating a contract. I'd rather go back and forth ten times than sign something I don't fully agree with. Contracts are legally binding. Reading the fine print is part of the job. 6. Not everything in my life is content. There are parts of my life that stay offline. My location, my privacy, and certain personal details are not up for discussion, regardless of the paycheck. 7. I don't reply to every comment anymore. I used to put pressure on myself to respond to everyone. Then burnout hit. I appreciate every single person who engages with my content, but I'm one person, not a customer service department. The longer I've been a creator, the more I've realised that boundaries are what make this career sustainable.
