I had ACL surgery last week in five days and I made a video talking about how I was experiencing really bad caff pain and somebody DM me who was a medical student and said not to alarm you but that could be cause for concern and if it persists you should definitely contact your doctor. The first night I woke up at 3:00 a.m. and it felt like someone had like dead-legged me in the caff and the second night I woke up and it was even worse so that's when I contacted my doctor. Like I said the pain felt like somebody hit me really, really hard in the cask and then like somebody would just continuously putting pressure on the point where somebody had hit me. Think if you had like a really deep bruise and then somebody was just like continually poking at it. My surgeon was definitely concerned about it when I called. They had me come in within the hour and then I got an ultrasound on my cask and it confirmed that there was a blood clot. I was prescribed aspirin and was taking it directly after the surgery, which is pretty common and now I'm on a higher dose blood thinner. I've noticed that if my leg is elevated I really don't have much pain, but when I stand up and actually walk and use my crutches is when I experience excruciating pain. I have also noticed that the pain does move around my calf a little bit. It started like directly in the middle of the muscle and now it kind of like has moved. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. But my doctor said that it could take a few days for the medication to like break it up and to have a decrease in pain because of it.
