If you're getting back into a routine this summer, here's exactly how I'd build your grocery cart as a dietitian. The biggest mistake that I see this time of year is people trying to completely change their eating habits overnight. Instead, start with simple staples that make eating well feel easy. I'd build your cart around a few lean proteins for meal prep. Greek yogurt for a quick breakfast or snack. Plenty of fruits and vegetables. Grains you actually enjoy eating. And convenient options when life gets busy. And this is one of the convenient snacks that I would have on hand: Chomps. So many people plan out breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but forget to plan for the time between meals. That's when grabbing whatever's available becomes really tempting and it's usually not the best option. Keeping a convenient snack with you makes staying consistent so much easier. Each Chomps stick has 10 grams of protein and 0 grams of sugar. I take these everywhere with me. They're such an easy option to keep in your pantry, in your desk, in your gym bag, wherever the busy day takes you. My biggest advice for getting back into routine isn't just to buy more food. It's to buy the right foods. Fill your cart with staples that you'll actually use and don't forget to plan for between meals. If you've tried Chomps, let me know your favorite flavor in the comments! I always love hearing everyone's.
