Would you leave your vending machine at a location where people were trying to break into it? Or would you pull it out? Because that's exactly what happened to me. I had one of my soda machines outside of a busy laundromat. It looked like a great location, plenty of foot traffic, people waiting on their laundry, and cold drinks were selling consistently. Then one morning I showed up to restock and something immediately felt off. The keypad was scratched up, the bill acceptor was jammed, and there was a soda hanging halfway out of the machine. I knew someone had been trying to force their way in. Luckily, there was a security camera pointed right at the machine. So I watched the footage and honestly, it made me furious. Two teenagers were yanking on the machine, rocking it back and forth, and even kicking it in the middle of the day while people walked by like nothing was happening. No apology, no concern, no solution. So I pulled my machine out, found a better location nearby, and in the very first month, it made almost double the money. Sometimes the best business decision isn't fixing a bad location, it's knowing when to leave. So tell me, what would you have done? Would you have kept the machine there or moved it like I did?
