I'm 32. I'll say this for all you girls in your 20s:

This is what I would tell you if you were my younger sister. 1️⃣ If you want to grow fast in your career, there are tradeoffs. Decide early what you are willing to sacrifice for the season you are in. 2️⃣ There will be a period where you have to put in the hours. Long days, thankless tasks, unglamorous work. Do it anyway. 3️⃣ Save for a business coach or a mastermind the same way you save for a holiday. It will fast track your path more than any degree ever will. 4️⃣ Buy the books. Pay for the masterclass. Invest in your own knowledge before you invest in anything else. 5️⃣ Stop optimizing for being liked. Being liked gets you invited to lunch. Being respected gets you promoted. They are not the same thing. 6️⃣ How you look at work matters. Not to be attractive. To be taken seriously. Look intentional every time you walk in. 7️⃣ There is a line between polished and trying too hard. Stay on the right side of it. People notice both. 8️⃣ Working from home is great but in the beginning you learn from proximity. Being in the room, watching how decisions get made, is an education you cannot get on a Zoom call. 9️⃣ Giving up some flexibility for a season early in your career is not a loss. It is an investment. You can reclaim the flexibility later when you have built the credibility. 🔟 Motivation is a feeling. Discipline is a decision. Stop waiting for one and start practicing the other.
