five money conversations we had before we had the baby because it is cheaper. One is can I extend my maternity leave, what does it look like? Will we actually be able to even afford to do that? Two is what this child care look like for us. Some people rely on parents and family, other people want to bring it in a nanny, and for those of you who live outside of the UK, we found in Dubai and here in Paraguay. Two I one and night or not. Either way, some of those do cost money and so you need to be up front about it. Three is what are our non-negotiable? What are we not willing to give up once the baby comes? There are some non-negotiable that I genuinely would not even think about having a baby with that person because inevitably like you will have to sacrifice when you have a child and it's important that you know what that person's ambitions are and what they would like their life to look like as a parent. Four is what money the child gets. So we're talking about things like saving, whether that's for private school fees, inheritance. You basically don't want saving to be an after thought. It's got to be something that you have a conversation about as soon as possible. Five is completely, but I think it's a conversation worth having, which is what happens if we die. Who has power of attorney, what happens to our estate, what happens to everything that we own. Is there life insurance? How are we really setting this child up if the inevitable happens one day? There are five conversations that we had before we had children. If you know someone expecting send this to them
