Hook
People on the East Coast and West Coast talk on the phone differently, especially New York and LA. Like, in LA, people are really private about their phone calls. You know, they don't want people to eavesdrop, so they kinda talk like, hush, hush. And when my wife and I were there, like, I can't. I don't think I've overheard that many conversations on the phone. But since being back in New York, I realized that, like, people in New York, they're talking loud and they want you to hear what they're talking about. And it's almost like they're advertising, uh, their conversation and, and, like, it's almost like a riddle, like, like they're giving you little clues. I passed by this girl on my walk and she was talking so loud on the phone, and she was like, I mean, I told her, like, if pizza is your favorite food, how can you be gluten free? And I walk with them, I'm like, that's right. How can she be gluten free if pizza is her favorite food? You know, and I think about it and, like, so many conversations that I overhear, I find myself. After I, I overhear a conversation, I, I'm like, trying to piece it together. I'm like, trying to connect the dots, you know, it's almost like a little, like a little murder mystery.
