Rejection fueled so much of what I did in my 20s. Because I learned quickly that after every single no, the universe would always come back with a yes that was better than I could ever imagine. Not because I sat around and just hoped for my luck to turn around, but because I worked my a** off to prove the universe wrong. But lately, doing this "I'll prove you wrong" thing in my 30s is so different from doing it in my 20s. The stakes are completely different, bigger, scarier, and there have been so many times where I've felt like these bigger rejections are a reflection of me.
