5 Things I Stopped Doing
that made money less stressful ✨
I stopped treating every payday like shopping day.
Before, payday felt like permission to buy things I'd been waiting for.
Now, payday is for giving every peso a job.
The shopping can wait. My financial goals come first.
I stopped relying on my next paycheck to fix everything.
I used to think "Okay lang, sasahod naman ako.."
Now, I budget by paycheck.
I plan ahead.
My paycheck has a purpose before it even arrives.
I stopped saying "yes" to every loan I qualified for.
Just because I qualify for a loan doesnt mean I could actually afford it.
I ask myself "how much of my future salary am I willing to sacrifice?"
Is this really a NEED?
I stopped thinking every extra peso was mine to spend.
Pag dumarating ang mga bonuses, reimbursements or other windfalls... dati automatic gastos agad.
Now, extra income gets assigned. Either for emergency fund, debt or investments instead of lifestyle upgrades.
You can always set aside a small percentage for fun if you want.
I stopped chasing perfect budgeting
The budget that changed my life wasnt the prettiest one.
Sometimes, I missed categories, I keep adjusting after a month and there are unexpected expenses cropping up.
But that's OK.
A budget isnt supposed to be perfect.
It's supposed to help you make better decisions.
Speaking of budgets...
If you need a budget template, the one I use is available at the link in my bio ✨
None of these changed my salary overnight. It took time.
But these completely changed how I handle money.
Save this if you feel anxious about money all the time.
