Here are things I stopped buying part 2. Not because I can't afford them, but because I realized they don't add any value to my life and I don't miss them. Number one, sneakers. Our sneakers, especially Adidas. There was a time I was obsessed with Adidas. At one point I probably owned around 12 to 15 pairs. My running shoes, casual shoes, sneakers. Three stripes, yan. Nakakatawa. I only ever wore the same few pairs over and over again. The rest, my souls, nagpepeel, leather, nasira without enjoyed. These days I just keep a few pairs that I genuinely love and actually use. Number two, trendy clothing. One thing I've learned is that trends move way faster than I do. Pansinin niyo, every month may bagong must-have piece. Bagong aesthetic, bagong core, bagong trend. But when I look at my closet, it's never the trendy pieces that I keep reaching for. It's always the classics. So these days I stick to neutrals, beiges, and pieces I know I'll wear for years from now. Number three, notebooks. This one hurts me, because if you know me, sa dati, I'd buy notebooks because of the cute cover or maganda yung paper. Baka ako, the someday came. So they ended up sitting on my shelves, drawers, untouched. Now I only buy a notebook kung alam ko na agad kung para saan siya. Number four, multiple iPhone cases. I used to tell myself, okay lang, mura lang naman. Famous last words. Because one cheap case became another, then another, then another. Most of them weren't exactly high quality. They would yellow, crack, pretty just... classic. Until it needs to replace it. Last, small purses/organizers. I think I bought these because I liked the idea of being organized as a type A girly. Every new organizer felt like, this is it, this will finally fix my life. Spoiler alert: hindi pala. Because at the end of the day, I can only carry one purse at a time. Most of them end up unused, space, dummy, overwhelming. Now I just keep one or two truly looking. Looking back, I don't think I was buying these things because I needed them. Most of the time, I was buying them because they were cute or trendy or on sale, or because they represented the kind of person I wanted to become, which is a very expensive to shop. Just because you like something doesn't mean you need to own it. You can admire it, appreciate it, think it's beautiful, and leave it at the store. What's something you used to buy all the time that you don't even miss anymore right now? Share in the comments.
