Hotels join one at a time, so one property from a brand can be in it while another isn't. Capella Shanghai takes points. Capella Ubud doesn't. Look up the exact hotel you want, not the brand. The Amex Platinum has given cardholders Leaders Club Sterling status for a while now. Enrollment required. That means breakfast for two, upgrade priority at arrival, early check-in and late checkout, and a property credit at most hotels. It all applies on points stays too.
