Generations of people know this place as the labor club. But before that it was the town's court house and behind these walls are hidden rooms that haven't seen the light in decades. And we are about to go inside and see them. Today I'm joined by Freya who's have run this place for years and who actually grew up inside it. And it's not just memories lingering in these rooms. There are things happening here that defy explanation. Like this fire exit door which has a habit of opening entirely on its own. As you can see, this fire exit door has a push bar to open it. You cannot open this door without pushing the bar. We have previously voed CCTV footage of the bar being pushed down, the door flying open and there was no one here. Uncovered in 2022 is a secret seller which used to be the holding cells for people who were waiting for execution. Follow me as we go down and explore. I'm currently sat on one of the beds in the holding cells where people would wait for their execution. While I'm prepared to step down here and explore. Fiano won't even cross the threshold. I refuse to come down into the cell. because the day that they uncovered them, the things that happened in this place were terrifying. And until they put this door on to close them off, they didn't stop. The dark history of this site goes even further back than the building itself. Out here in the car park is where those executions actually took place. Behind me is the original fire place of the dining room and the girl school. So I'm currently standing here in the dance room where the fire place actually originally featured. So Growing up here while your family ran the club men spending holidays in a very unique environment. You actually had a paranormal experience on Christmas when you were kids, is that right? It was Christmas Eve and we were clear in the room. There was only five of us left in the building. We'd put all of the cans, bottles and glasses onto one table, pop downstairs. When we came back upstairs, everything had been thrown on the floor and tables have been turned over. Finally, we end in the nook room. A space that's in s for a heavy negative energy. One that actively makes people feel like they need to get up and leave the room immediately. So, tell us about some of the experiences you've had in the. I was collecting glasses up here on a Monday afternoon and there was a gentleman sat in the corner right over there. I was having a normal conversation with him, how the weather, how are you? And he was drinking a pint of beer. I take the glasses downstairs to be and I asked my dad, who's the guy he sat upstairs? And my dad's like, there's no one here. We looked back on the CCTV camera and there I am for five minutes having a conversation with nothing. This is actually where the gentlemen was sat while I was having that conversation with him. There have been hundreds of experiences throughout the years. One of our cleaner's point blank refused to clean this room for the entirety of her employment with us. And it was because she'd seen a lady in a white dress who was screaming at her to get out. That sounds terrifying. I wonder if that could be the legend of the headmistress.
